Database Section added
I have added a summary of my database work in the Resources section. This includes screen images of the principle data entry forms for the Earth Systems Database, which includes all of the ecological and fossil data used in my thesis and more recent climate, biodiversity and biogeography work.

Maastrichtian DEM and climate work submitted
My work on the Maastrichtian palaeo-DEM and palaeodrainage (presented at AGU 2001: Markwick & Valdes, 2001) has (at last) been submitted for publication, as has the "hot-house" - "ice-house" hydrological comparison from AGU 2002 (Markwick et al., 2002). As soon as this is published my aim is to release all of the ArcView shapefiles associated with the project. A manuscript presenting all of the Cretaceous and Tertiary palaeogeographies (Markwick et al 1999) is also nearing completion and will be submitted shortly. Again, the aim is to provide all of the appropriate ArcGIS shapefiles to the community for general use.

AAPG 2003 Salt Lake City
Unfortunately I've had to cancel my attendance at AAPG due to work commitments. I apologise to those of you who were hoping to see my poster on Maastrichtian drainage analysis and hydrology (Markwick & Valdes, 2003). Do feel free to contact me directly for further information on this work (paul.markwick@which.net), or check out palaeogeography pages on this web site.

Upload speed increased
In order to make the page load time quicker throughout this site, I've just changed the formatting on all of the images. I hope this helps. More on database design soon.

Quicktime VR Panoramas
I've added some Quicktime VR panoramas to the Photo Gallery page. They're low resolution so should download relatively fast. Given space limitations on this site I've only included a couple of examples, but I hope they give you all an idea of what this part of North Wales looks like.
