Cenozoic Palaeogeography

A set of global palaeogeographies has been constructed for the Late Cretaceous stages (Aptian-Maastichtian) and Cenozoic sub-Epochs: Markwick et al., 1999. Once this work is published I'll add more information and figures to this page. For the time being the early versions of all of the Tertiary maps can be accessed using the menu to the left.

LEFT: Early Eocene palaeogeography (Generation I) for North Atlantic region showing the first draft terrestrial geography and some of the datasets (rotated synthetic isochrons and DSDP/ODP sites) used to construct the detail palaeobathymetry.
